Poole is the perfect place to teach, whether you are just starting, looking for an inspiring and interesting teaching role, or want to progress your career:

  • We have a diverse range of schools including infant, junior, primary, first, middle, secondary, special, alternative provision and teaching schools.  With maintained schools, academies and a growing number of Multi Academy Trusts.

  • Our cross phase approach provides practitioners with the opportunity to work across phases and subjects.

  • Education leaders in Poole work together to ensure there are clear progression routes and pathways, for NQTs through to leaders, and we actively identify and develop the future leaders in Poole.

  • We have a range of professional development opportunities both within, across and external to Poole schools and an inspiring  and wide range of teaching resources to enhance curriculum provision, including a rich natural environment

In Poole there is strong collaboration and partnership between Poole schools, Poole School’s Association, our local teaching schools and the Local Authority. This has led to improvement in outcomes for our pupils and in November 2016 the Regional Director for Ofsted formally congratulated Poole on the improvement across all key stages.

Our teachers are valued by the community.  In 2017 five teachers from Poole schools won awards in the annual Daily Echo School Awards, in categories ranging from leadership to STEM teacher of the year.  Poole schools scooped nearly half of all the awards from hundreds of nominations from across Dorset and Hampshire!

Nationally Poole schools have been recognised through being shortlisted for the prestigious TES School Awards and a Poole teacher is a contributing author to the new book, ‘Learning Without Labels: Improving Outcomes for Vulnerable Pupils’, a collection of contributions from some of the UK’s leading educationalists, edited by Marc Rowland, the Director of Policy &  Research at the National Education Trust.
