Poole schools

The community of Poole schools offer a rewarding and supportive place to teach.

We are committed to supporting our pupils to reach their full potential, and making Poole a centre for outstanding teaching and learning.

Our collaborative approach, across Poole schools and Poole Schools’ Association, our teaching schools and the Local Authority, coupled with the large proportion of Multi Academy Trusts, provides extensive opportunities to develop new skills, have greater impact and influence in your work, and to extend your career.

We have an extensive range of schools across infant, junior, primary, first, middle, secondary, special, and alternative provision, including some nursery provision and 6th forms.

Poole also has a rich resource to enhance teaching, from local museums, outdoor activities, the Lighthouse arts centre, Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (based in Poole), Arts and Music Service, and Bournemouth University.

Many Poole schools are also family friendly having achieved Investors in People awards.

Poole Schools’ Association is a strong partnership of local Headteachers, taking a collaborative approach to continually improving and supporting school to school support.

Our work includes termly Summits, sharing good practice, developing innovative projects, cross phase working parties and joint working with the local teaching schools and the Local Authority. A current working group is focusing on effective practice in physical and mental health to ensure we support the wellbeing of our pupils and staff.

"The curriculum is a strength of the school; it interests and excites pupils so that they acquire knowledge and develop a broad range of skills."
