This is an exciting time to join Adult Social Care.

We are a jointly managed service with Bournemouth Borough Council and are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on this role.

The successful applicant will be employed by Poole and seconded to act for Bournemouth Borough Council as part of our preparations to form a new Council in April 2019.  The role will TUPE into the newly formed Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.

This post will take an operational lead for supporting and improving practice around the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act.  Adult Social Care are aware of the need to further embed good practice and of the changes coming from the MCA (amendment) Bill.

The successful applicant will need to be a qualified BIA, have extensive experience of the existing DoLS process, the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act for our Business Unit and an awareness of the possible impact of future changes.

This role will be pivotal in managing our two existing DoLS Teams and working with the Statutory Services Service Manager to ensure that these two Teams are successfully merged when we become one Council in April 2019.

The two DoLS Teams work very closely together at present, but are not co-located.  This will mean working across two locations in the medium term and working to develop shared processes.

The post holder will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure that the Team is fit for the future and will have opportunity to influence future service structure.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the community and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. Please refer to the Person Specification for more details.
