Senior Parent Support Worker - Term time only + 3 weeks (42 weeks per year)

Part time (4 days week)

Grade 8

Actual for post : £21,726 - £23,574 per annum

Commencing hourly pay £16.70 hr

4 days weeks to be confirmed at interview 7.4 hrs per day

The Ocean Learning Trust is an expanding Multi Academy Trust (MAT) consisting of five community and church primary schools in the Bournemouth and Poole area; we are committed to working together for the common good, empowering every school to improve the life opportunities of all our children. The MAT has a central management team based at Heathlands Primary Academy, which supports the schools’ Finance, HR, Operational and School Improvement activities.

 We are seeking to appoint a Senior Parent Support Worker – this role would suit a person with Social Worker experience looking for a term time based role (total 42 weeks per year).

 Main purposes of the job:

 To work under the direction of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, in partnership with other professionals, to offer practical help and emotional support to pupils and families experiencing various problems.

 To assess the needs of families with children of 5-11years.

 To support pupils and their families in school with any concerns involving parenting, education, behaviour, attendance and health.

 To provide a friendly, approachable and confidential point of contact for families.

 Be a reflective practitioner.

 Have the ability to be creative and innovative in supporting children and their families.

 Have excellent skills relevant to children on the continuum of social, emotional and behavioural needs.

 Have the ability, drive and resilience to ensure the emotional health and wellbeing of children.

 Be experienced in working with children or families in challenging circumstances.
