Are you a dedicated primary school teacher looking to reduce the number of days you work each week to have better work/life balance? Would you like to have the security of knowing that you will be placed in the same school(s) with the same working hours every week? Would you like to get away from regular staff meetings, assessment meetings, moderation meetings and focus on teaching?
Here at turn IT on we are looking for a dedicated and passionate ICT teacher; you don’t need to be an expert in teaching computing in primary schools, but you will become one. We will support you in this role with mentoring, resources and team-teaching opportunities.
turn It On is an independent, innovative company which provides hands-on ICT and computing support to around 500 primary and secondary schools by consultants and staff who understand teaching. We currently support schools across the South East of England and employ over 100 staff, with offices in Oxfordshire, Princes Risborough, Dorset and London. We have been expanding steadily over the past 15 years and have no intention of slowing down.
The successful candidate will join an existing team to help schools improve the standard of their ICT provision and enable them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions. You will be advising schools on the computing curriculum, assessing their needs, providing consultancy on computing and IT in general, running INSET days, undertaking staff training to schools when required and supporting ICT after-school clubs as and when required.
You will facilitate communication between your schools and turn IT on, keep up to date with what services turn IT on can offer, and manage the accounts of your customers. Our ideal person will have a passion for teaching IT and ideally have a strong technical background, be self-motivated and enjoy providing excellent customer service.
This role requires you to be a team player, have strong communication and organisation skills along with a courteous manner with the ability to explain technical issues in layman’s terms to our customers. You should be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach and innovative way to delivering teaching.
You will be educated to degree level with a related; B.Ed. degree, BA (Hons) degree with QTS, or relevant PGCE qualification and have relevant IT qualifications where possible. You will be expected to complete some online training courses before you begin your role with the company.
The role is offered on a part time, term time only basis.
In return, we are offering a salary of between £26,000 - £32,000 FTE depending on experience, Pension scheme, Eye care voucher scheme, Employee Assistance Programme and Childcare Voucher Scheme.
Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and due to the location of the schools must be able to drive.
To apply please send an up to date CV along with a cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org
